REGISTER HERE!!!

Trident Athletics is excited to host the 4th annual Trident Classic Olympic Weightlifting Competition!

We especially encourage new lifters and first time competitors to come out for our Novice sessions. We always get an enthusiastic, encouraging crowd, and it’s a great opportunity to get some experience on the platform. Singlets and USAW Membership are not required for novice lifters – but clothing must be semi-fitted and knees and elbows MUST be visible to allow the judges to confirm proper lockout has occurred. Coaches, please encourage your new lifters to join us!

Singlets and USAW Membership are REQUIRED for Open session competitors.

*An entry total is required to compete in the Open sessions!!! The entry total will be used to organize sessions.

Is there a minimum entry total?

  2. Timothy Wong says:

I have not competed in weightlifting before. Will I still be able to compete in the Novice session?

    Thanks
    Tim

    • zachtrident says:

Hi Tim, Yes you can definitely still compete in the Novice session. It is the perfect opportunity for you to be introduced to competing in the sport!

  3. Sean says:

Is there women’s novice masters in this?

    • zachtrident says:

Hi Sean, the masters compete in the same sessions as everybody else. There are typically a few masters lifters in each session.

  4. Richard says:

I have previously competed in one weightlifting competition before. If I decide to compete as a novice, can my total be used to qualify for national level events?

    • zachtrident says:

Hi Richard, in order to qualify for national level events you must compete in the Open sessions. This is due to the Open sessions requiring USAW memberships, singlets, etc. If you would like to compete in the men’s Open session, I would recommend registering ASAP as spots are almost sold out.

If you have any other questions, just let us know!
